/lit/, I'm at my wit's end. I've spent the summer writing out the story I had been planning for almost two years. I decided to split it up into acts (to make the task seem less daunting), and gave the first act of 170 pages to a group of my close friends and family. I had high hopes that they would give me good advice, critique well, and hopefully give me more ideas to work with. And they have... all two that have actually read it. And even they stopped after the first few chapters. These are relatively intelligent individuals, I gave the story specifically to them because I knew they could help me out. But I haven't heard anything from them in almost a month. I understand that life is incredibly busy, but still. It is very frustrating when you make something and no one will tell you if it is good or shit, because it is honestly such an unimportant blip on their radars.

I'm trying not to get on anyone's cases about it, but I wanted to share it early on with people I could trust to step in and tell me if I needed to do something differently.Ya know, before I take the step into giving to people I've never met. No one close to me is interested though, so I don't know what to do. What do the aspiring authors of this board do when in a situation like this?
