>The way to fix this is through a proper editorial process
I agree and it's why I'm a bit disillusioned with the "throw everything against the wall and hit publish" approach too many still push here. I already hang around /lit/ so I post my stuff sometimes, but I guess my main lesson of the last few months I'm sharing with OP is to not build your brand on /lit/ exclusively at all. There are far better places to seek eyeballs - so connect with people like me because I'm happy to help but its important you get out of your comfort zone.

>low effort shit most people who just want to be internet famous post here
With no exaggeration I can say more than half of the writers you see here are people experiencing manic episodes. They fire off crazy shitstorms of ideas and just blast them off into the ether without even light editing and then when cry nobody pays attention.

Thank you, and I should add that we are open to submissions- flash fiction, short, non-fic - just about anything relevant to our topic of male life post 2008: https://forms.gle/yTxqpqnSkY2pfC6W7

Congratulations! I'm 500 words short of finishing a 100k word manuscript and couldn't imagine doubling down for a second half.

What is your topic and writing process like to get all that down?
