So, if never in my entire life has a girl ever shown any romantic interest in me does that mean that the gods just never intended for me to become a boyfriend? Ultimately, a man can only be the best version of himself and be presentable but whether a woman is interested in him is out of his control.
Did I get that right?

I have been doing some reading in Stoicism and Buddhism and I have gotten the impression that while there are definite similarities, Buddhism does not have as much to say on how to live life "in the world," but rather pertains to living the separated life of the monk or ascetic and thus requires some degree of abstraction to be applied to the life of a normal person, whereas Stoicism actually gives practical advice to people living "in the world." It reminds me of the difference between Eastern Orthodox works, which primarily pertain to the life of the monk, and thus have questionable usefulness for a normal person, and Christian literature of other traditions. Is this a correct assessment?
