Public libraries are rarely going to be helpful for books, it's better to just go straight to the next step. First off, you're basically giving up your choice of selection to bureaucrats, who have farmed out the task to women majoring in liberal arts. That's a big red flag as-is, and selection will tend to lean to woke garbage. Your favorite authors will be poorly represented in the system, if at all. If there is something in the system that you desire, no matter the size of the library, your local branch will rarely have the titles that you're looking for. Finally, the library is unreliable on keeping stock, especially if it's an older copy, either it gets lost or defaced, or its simply shoved out of the way for newer books.

I started with the picture of dorian gray. I really enoyed that one in highschool, so i thought it would be fair to read it again when I actually decided to get into literature. After that I read some HG Wells because I had them for free on google booka for some reason. Then I started Lovecraft's library and started Tolkien's works (currently on RotK) after I'm done with my current reads I'm going to read Moby Dick to see what the memes are all about and get into CS Lewis(first narnia, then his nonfiction works). After Lewis, I'll read dostoy. I will read the Greeks if I ever want to get into philosophy, but as of now it remains memelit in my eyes.

Ohhhh bruh you gotta read the classics- shut the fuck up. Fuck the greeks. If they're so great why is their country today the toilet of eurofags?

Why do you? People like you who complain about incels are many times worse than incels themselves. Anyone who has had sex or been in a relationship knows it's just another facet of life rather than some kind of litmus test for whether or not someone "succeeded" in life.
You've got some kind of personal problem that you're trying to compensate with by hating on other people for this reason alone. Could it be that - gasp! - you haven't had sex?

Why do you think the 50 Shades of Gray trilogy was a big hit among women? It sure as hell wasn't well-written prose.

What are some short "classic" reads that can be reasonably read in one sitting? (i.e. < 200 pages, and interesting enough that you'd want to continue)

I'm looking for some padding between very large novels.
