I don't get why people are so bothered by the listing of the clothes. It was interesting in how it not only gave a very detailed image of the person and how Patrick views people but also (as you said) served as great juxtaposition to the hyper violence and Patrick's loss of composure. Him listening to Vivaldi and picking out porn tapes like "cunt wars" was hysterical
