I don't watch TV, I can't help you. But if you look at wiktionary, they'll say if a word is obsolete or archaic. Maybe something like 'hence' is a bit more old-fashioned but thus and moreover, really?
Ngram viewer also tells me they're all still used in writing (even in American English).
