Post books whose audiobooks have god tier musical theme songs.

Pic related (although other ones in the series have better ones)

Alright /lit/, so earlier I was thinking about a book I read when I was young. At first, I wanted to read it again, but then I thought, "What if it's not as good as I remember it? What if I don't like it anymore and my good memories of it are ruined?"

So tell me, /lit/, any books you're worried about reading again?

Pic related.

Have you read A Series of Unfortunate Events? I'm not even gonna lie, I learned a lot of words from that series.

But yeah, the best thing you can do to expand your vocabulary is to keep reading. Look things up when you don't know what they mean. There's no shame in not knowing things, only in not wanting to learn.

I don't get it /lit/. How can something that is essentially meant for children be considered pretentious?
If anything its cleverness and meta humor can be more appreciated once you reread them as an adult. Did you guys never read this as children? Is that the problem you all have with this series?

What's your opinion on Lemony Snicket's "Series of Unfortunate Events"?

These are pretty good OP. Also, Neil Gaiman's Odd and The Frost Giants and Coraline.

But, if he has fetal alcohol syndrome, I don't know where his reading level is at. Maybe the Magic Tree House books?

I don't want to start another shitty thread so I'll ask here.

Are these books any good? I read a couple in elementary school but they weren't all out yet and I never bothered finishing them.

I read these books quite a few years back.

Do they suck?

I can't remember.

What do you guys think of this series?

Is Lemony Snicket a good writer?

What does /lit/ think about A Series of Unfortunate Events? I just read numbers 9 and 11, only because the naming was messed up on my ereader and it called them things like "Front Cover" by "Author". I just started reading them to see what they were and kept going.

I was really pleasantly surprised though. I wasn't expecting all of those literary references like the main protagonists are called the Baudelaire twins and the villain's girlfriend is called Esme Squalor and they had to sail past a place called the Gulag Archipelago.

Apparently there are a stack of references in the rest of the series:

I thought it was witty and it reminded me of The Phantom Tollbooth a bit. I just wondered what /lit/ thought because I don't recall seeing the series mentioned here.

A Series of Unfortunate Events.

There MUST be a comic of it somewhere, right? It's just too amazing to be without one....

But seriously is there? I love these to death

Alright /lit/, crazy new idea.
ITT: Children's series or singular novels. They can be classics, or contemporary stories, and they need to be good.
Also, they need not be narrative, they can be a book of verse, nonfiction, introductions to certain subjects, etc - so long as they are interesting and of highish quality.

inb4 Harry Potter and Twilight

Oh, also, I'm not 12 years old. I just think that literary merit can be found in a lot of works written fro younger audiences. Pic related.
