I was inspired to join the Army after I read about Robert Heinlein. I too wanted to write Starship Troopers, and thought that in order to write a good book about a soldier, I needed to get into the military myself in order to get the authentic experience and earn my street creds.

I ended up serving for 15 years, became a decorated war hero, and got into the best shape of my life. With the untaxed housing and food allowances on top of the stable officer pay, I have racked up a healthy amount of net worth. I also have led platoons of young men and women who respect me and made a name for myself as a protector of our nation and FREEDOM. The uniform and leadership skills really attracts the ladies, so I eventually got a hot wife. Now with two perfect, adorable children, a golden retriever, and a 10% discount at Home Depot, I am totally living the dream.

One night I tucked my children into bed and read them Starship Troopers, a wholesome book with good family values. When they fell asleep I went and made love to my wife, but wasn’t able to fall asleep right after as usual. Something was on my mind, and for hours I tried figuring out what it was. Suddenly it dawned on me: I haven’t written my book yet. My whole military career and the past 15 years of my life was just one long procrastination game so I don’t actually have to sit down and write.

How do I explain to my wife that my whole life was a procrastination game so I didn’t have to actually write a book, and also that I became my own book character?

Another religious person who thinks morals and virtues can/should be derived from false a premise. Only because those morals and virtues are relative to his own interests. Just another secondhand filter trying to convince common folk.
