Politics apart, there is something really weird about the face of Russians. There is an uncanny valley feeling to it, they look like they are made of clay, with small almost asian eyes, but blue, and with pale skin, a mixture of delicate and sharp strong lines. I still get that from Putin a bit, but when it comes to Lenin, Stalin or Trotsky or guys like Einsenstein and Tarkovsky, I get really creeped out. It's not the same with paintings, but with this in mind I also look at Dostoievsky and have a bit of that feeling as well. They look absolutely fine and human, but at the same time there is something weird about them. They don't look like they take a shit or flirt in a bar. Does anybody have that feeling as well?
