You disgusting, no-good, dirty, rotten pieces of shit have got me reading COILING DRAGON. I'm not very far, just past the Saint-level Warrior vs Saint-level Magus (I think of the Gold Knights of the Zodiac when I read 'Saint-level'). I notice some repetition, e.g., Linley's thoughts, babby explanations of qi, but does that eventually go away? It's an easy skim regardless so I can't complain too much although I feel it will be the reason why this story is so fucking long but I seem to have a low tolerance for reading material so I'll likely read the full thing.
I read the first 20% of The Darkest Revenge but it feels mundane and while the obligatory 'bad thing happens to kick off main plot' finally happened, it is still slow going. I will get back to it eventually. I read the first 5% of The Rage of Dragons and the writing feels uninteresting. I read the first little bit of Downfall and Rise and maybe it'll go in a good direction but the writing makes me feel awkward. (Anon who said he can't write romance was right, his discussion with the girl in the lunchroom was bad but at least he got women nailed down). I'll go back at some point.

When I went back to read the main part of the book earlier this year while not sober, I enjoyed about the space chase, I realized it was a lot shorter than I thought and comprised a much smaller section of the book but I think its ability to outshine the sum of the encompassing content speaks for itself.

It's the most developed and explored, yeah. I'm curious to see how FTL travel will function, as well as some other things in the future as they discover more alloys. Soulforging is incredibly strong, and some other Selish magics.
