Europe isn't totally Socialist. Nigger, you need to try and leave Texas more often. There's a world outside of oil, lynching and cattle farming or whatever it is you Americans do.

I was feeling it, until I saw that retard spell like a 12 year old.
>I want to change the world lol, let us change the way we spell 'cause it's "kewl"
Seriously?
Give me some cats and I'll be alright. Nothing else to upset me here.

OP here,
I never thought I'd see a thread where D&E was the most on-topic. I tried to go out of my way in the OP to emphasize that you needn't believe in any essentialist or objective values in order to get behind a notion of human rights. Most people seem to, in fact. Whether human rights are actually natural rights or they are social constructs which underlie the cooperation of humans in society, they apply. There is no denying it. In order to interact with one another, we must have a common expectation of how that interaction should be mediated.
So:
>Might is right.
may be your conception of a human right, but it would be more like the right to use one's strength to influence others without restriction.
>rights are whatever we decide them to be.
misses the point. My question is "What do you decide them to be?"
and so forth.

I'm leaving again for a few hours. Try not to turn this thread into a shitstorm about subjectivism.

God fucking damnit.

I can count the number of good stories I've read from that retarded site on one hand. Why do I keep going back?

So, /lit/
Can you copyright an unfinished book series? I've been working alone on a particular story, with a wide set of characters and an overarching plot, for years. For the last year or so,I've had a partner, but they've become untrustworthy (lying, stealing) and haven't contributed much in months. I'm wondering if I could implement some sort of copyright over the work in my own name, and just pay my partner something for whatever they've contributed and then kick them off.

Keep in mind I've thought up all the twists, characters, and nearly every nuance of the story. The most they've contributed is being a board to bounce ideas off of and some minor logical editing, but it's not worth it with the crap they're pulling now.
