Hey /lit/, what are the best versions of The Count of Monte Cristo and Les Miserables to read in english?

I've heard that the penguin classics version is the best for Count, but haven't heard anything about Miserables.

Would love to read both (especially Les Miserables) but with a translation, I want to make sure I'm getting the best version.

I've just finished Les Miserables and I enjoyed it. But I read the abridged version for lack of time, and I was wondering if anyone has read the full version and can discuss with me some themes and motifs in it.
any help would be appreciated,
