It's not just Abercrombie, It's the zoomer fantasy syndrome, new readers need to be spoonfed EVERYTHING, that's why shit like Magic sistems exist because the average modern fantasy reader can't comprehend that some things can and should be mysterious, that's why readlets struggle so much with stuff like malazan when it's really not that hard to read but malazanfags like to scare people away from it. It's not a damn James Joyce novel, it's just that characters talk and think about the world they inhabit as if they actually live there, instead of explaining every little thing in their heads and sadly that's not common in modern fantasy where everyone talks like an npc with unlockable quests

>Don't like action scenes in fantasy books.. Is it just me?
>I am not a fan of action scenes in fantasy or sci-fi books.. I tend to have problems following the action and a lot of times I zone out or I skim through the action scenes..
>I can follow slice of life or political intrigue better in books. I know a lot of people just love action scenes but I just cannot seem to be able to follow enough to like it..

>Am I alone or is it just me?
Do redditzoomers really...?

Is this a zoomer thing? I'm always seeing people asking that in book forums, that and fight scenes, seems a lot of people have a hard time following action scenes.
