What book or series that is under a hundred years old do you think will be known as well as Shakespeare or Homer's works in a few hundred years?
Here's my primary choice.

Okay /lit/, new to this board. I normally lurk and post in some /vg/ stuff, but I've been trying to read pic related and need some help.

Now I'm 25, and currently on break from Uni. I read The Hobbit about three months ago, and now I'm looking into reading the rest of the books.

I'm thinking about starting with Fellowship, as it's the only one I currently own. I'm having some awful trouble.

For some reason, I can't get into to it. I really want too, I do. But for some reason I'm having a hard time with the reading comprehension. I often find myself having to go back and re-read stuff, and losing interest quick.

Any tips on this? I've heard similar stuff to books like Dune, or Song of Fire and Ice series, but I didn't expect it out of this.
