What Poem should I memorize next, /lit/? I believe someone on here recommended "Anabelle Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe, and I finally got around to finishing that today.

Poetry memorization is a hobby of mine. I practice it in part from the simple enjoyment I take in memorizing and reciting poetry, and in part because I feel it's important to exercise one's memory like this in the age of the internet.

So. What should I memorize next?

1): The book you're reading for fun and entertainment.

2): The book you're reading because you want to:

• Expand your palate
• Learn something.
• Read a classic.
• Read something in some sense profound.

3): Discuss.


Note that 2 need not (indeed, SHOULD not) be dull or uninteresting. Reading a book you hate is never a commendable practice.

tl;dr: List your "fun" book and your "hard" book and then talk about them.
