Pic related is unironically a great companion piece, and is a more blunt male-brained approach than Marie Kondo's soft animism.
Including such pieces of advice as:
>get rid of your tv and watch everything on a smartphone vr headset
>get rid of your chairs
>keep a single handtowel for drying off after the shower
>get rid of things even if they spark joy
Few people will probably get much out of such an extreme stance, but the book is really good at getting you to examine how many things you can actually afford to get rid of.

Anyone else read this? I randomly thumbed through the first few pages while waiting on somebody at the bookstore and it really connected with me and I ended up picking it up. First book in a long time that was a real page turner for me.

Any recommendations for similar self-help books that aren't so in-your-face about it?

I stand by this one. I've reread it six times by now.
