What is it with /lit/ and all that feminism lately?

I mean sure we always had this Tolstoian touch which is no big surprise, after all this is a literature board.

But lately it seems you're going full tumblr mode.

It is a sad day on which people agree with OP.
And I like NGE.
But I also have to say: Symbolism isn't anything fucking special. If it is well executed it's an overpraised detail of a story at best.
It doesn't objectively add much the story as the techniques behind symbolism are mostly allegories.
And that's not half as special as lots of fans want to make it seem like.

Yeah... no. The allegories only rarely connected but mostly (and that's also the case in NGE) centred around a certain topic... and that's really nothing special to do in a story.
