I want to read books that will pair well with the music of Cat Stevens thematically and emotionally.

The music of Cat Stevens has spoken to me since I was young. I distinctly remember the day that I was introduced. My father, sister and I visited an antique store a little ways outside our town which sold lots and lots of books and records. My father found Teaser and the Firecat and Tea for the Tillerman in one of the dozens of bins and his eyes lit up. He insisted on my sister and I what a great artist Cat Stevens was and he bought both of them for a buck each. We had a record player at home on which we regularly spun records from Gershwin, Simon and Garfunkel, and various rock and jazz artists, but I had never heard music that touched me like Stevens'.
I had a tough relationship with my father and mother at this age, I was a typically rebellious teenage shithead. I was resentful of their love and I believed fanatically in my independence, and foolishly thought I could fare just well without anyone. Yet it was through the music of Cat Stevens that my father and I were able to bond. Stevens' themes of naivety and innocence, the songs of coming into one's age and the relationships between parents and children influenced me greatly and helped me to realize the special privilege of love my parents provided me with.
Basically I would like to read a book that could mirror the feelings that Stevens' music instilled in me. The great epiphanies and the beauty and everything that is contained in a Cat Stevens record.
