This is undoubtedly the most EPIC novel of all time. As I read it, every time I came upon another reference to Greek mythology, Shakespeare or Irish separatist politics I jumped up in the air and yelled "I GET THAT REFERENCE!". It's a shame Joyce isn't alive today because he, without a doubt, would earn more Reddit karma than any other poster, except maybe Barack Obama.

I read this book and I didn't like it. I thought the writing was kinda fruity and gay but nice but was morally revolted by the content. How do you like a book if you hate what it was saying. I expected a big moral gotcha at the end, but it just ended. I dont get why anyone would like this. Something like Taxi Driver is good because you realize he was your friend all along but this was just gay. I tried to read Finnegans Wake next but I dont like gibberish which is gay so I put it down. I think fiction is just for fags, Im not gonna get rich or laid from reading some faggot talk about dragons or some shit.

Ulysses.

Literally the hardest book to read thats ever been written.
Its not even in proper sentances, its just a random stream of unorganised thought that goes on forever and is pretty much impossible to decipher.

Reading this book is actually harder than finishing dark souls.

I'm going to be starting Ulysses for a class soon. I haven't read a ton since I was younger, and I know this book is a big and complex and important one. Any advice on getting the most out of it?
