The light novel series "The Sacred Blacksmith."

The author, a female, was attacked for having her female lead be raped by the villain while captive. Being Japanese otaku, it apparently had less to do with rape being controversial and more with their waifu's purity being defiled.

Later reprints replaced the rape scene with a statement that the villain was a eunuch.
