What am I in for?
Does this require any prior reading, akin to first reading the Bible, the Greeks and some Shakespeare before reading Moby Dick; or the Whale? Or am I good to go as is?

What is the most boring book you've ever read, and did you bring yourself to finish it?

Holy shit nothing happens other than this guy crying that his mother wont kiss him before bed and some evesdropping lame gossip about bourgeois frogs

I've just started reading pic related. I love it so far, but I rarely hear people discussing any of the later volumes.
Are they worth reading, or does Proust lose his touch after the first few? 3,000 pages seems a bit much, and I'm aware that he died before he finished editing the last couple of volumes.

What should I know before going in?

I've just recently started trying to read books, and chose Swann's way as a first, but the actual questio in mind is if I should try with such a novelseries as a first series, and if so, what should I pay most attention to in these books?
