I think we'll all make it some day.

I often have troubles appreciating poetry. I don't think that I have aphantasia, so I must be reading it wrong. What goes through your mind as you read poetry, /lit/?

Here's a couple relevant informations:
-When people mention their grandparents fucking or filled intestines, no image comes to mind, except if I make an effort. Others seem to be immediately grossed out.
-I can generally appreciate what I write myself, but not fully and not always.
-I can appreciate poetry set in music, although sometimes just for its sound.

Any similar experiences?

What We Talk About When We Talk About Love

I like the sense of abandon in this one.

I honestly cant imagine being so spontaneous with a woman even in our age.

My first thought was how their nice cloths are getting wet and i realize how far apart my experience was from theirs.

Which is better Durant or Magee's story of philosophy?

Emotion.

To stop, look at it, and realize something clicked. It's always one small thing you notice that gives you a connection.

I want to get into Russian lit but want to get away from the realist authors.

Can anyone name some good romantic Russian lit? Or some modern stuff that isn't entirely about communism? Ukranian counts too.

What freedom! by Ilya Repin

It was the first week of my now broken relationship. We were sitting on a bench and it was a nice summer night, around midnight. We were both excited about our new relationship, as it was unanticipated and sudden for both of us. We were talking about usual stuff, romantic sweet talking and etc. The date was 7th of July, it was a Sunday.

I don't really remember how our conversation developed but at some point she told me something similar to this: " We are both enthusiastic now because the relationship is new, these days will pass with time."
I cannot forget the expression on her face. She was telling it with a dark seriousness and with the wisdom of an experienced person. What would you feel /lit/ ? And what would you do ?
