Now I'm starting to think the opposite after seeing these disgusting shelf threads or purchase threads. Expelling all literature in to the digital aether makes it feel so much more disposable and, as a result, I don't feel the same pseudo intellectual need to read through works if I don't want to.

And my recollection of books is equally awful either way.

I had this half-insight when I was jogging: pretty much all internet culture is derivative of and parasitical towards original culture. And, just like international capitalistical finance *sniff*, the world is mostly derivative culture (or derivatives), by volume (or value).
