I've decided to write short fiction first so I have the confidence and ability for a full novel

Most /lit/izens who have read the Greeks and other philosophy already know that a healthy body is conducive to a healthy mind. There's already a decent crossover from /lit/ onto /fit/. Nobody on /lit/ rails against lifters or is resentful.

Your average /fit/izen though does not read and probably has no more interest in reading now than they did yesterday

I'd hit up text books first to get the basics of the time period and then when your knowledge has reached a basic level, read authors work to focus on individual areas of the period and different theories.

Anyone know of good books about the following subjects:
1) Charlemagne
2) Early Christianity
3) Pre-Islamic religion in the Middle East
4) Pre-Christian religion in Europe
5) Something about the major Christians before the Great Schism (e.g. Nestorias)
6) Someting about the Great Schism and about the Orthdox Church
7) A book on pre-Orthodox schism (e.g. the Council of Chalcedon)
8) Biographies on the major final Roman Emperors (e.g. Diocletian and Constantine)
9) A book on the Crisis of the Third Century
10) A book about the War of the Grand Allaince (for the love of God not about Ireland)

A lot of requests, I know, but it would help a lot!

Really you should read it all but the first four books of the Old Testament and the Gospel are the real big dogs.
