The Masquerade is one of those series that I greatly enjoy following and I would be super ultra pissed if it got dropped by the publishers. However, I mostly follow it for the characters, because the author is great at making them likeable. Book 2 shows that author can't really into plot. From Book 2 and Book 3 you can conclude that author would rather write a faintly alt-hist horror novel than politics/revenge.
