Burroughs appeals to me in a big way for his sincerity. this will seem like a misguided statement to folks who have only read a couple of WSB's books, and who mistake him for 2edgy, but he wrote things the way he saw them. his fiction (especially his last 3 novels) is clearer than people pretend it is, and he really was invested 100% in what he was doing.

Burroughs was probably autistic, and he made it work. he didn't write much about emotion per se, and let his weirdness shine.

WSB is the only author whose books I can read over and over and continue to enjoy immensely, regardless of how many times. I feel about him basically how I used to feel about certain bands when I was a teenager.
