Omori was really good the first 2/3rds of the game and then it fumbled the last 1/3rd so bad, so I'm very suspicious about its fans because many love the last third. If you self-insert as Sunny who is governed by a mix of apathy for causing his sister's death and covering it up, and who experiences endless edgy intrusive thoughts, or as Aubrey who became an actual edgelord bully for no fucking good reason, or worse as Basil the insane BPD femboy, you need to realize that you're enjoying the bad parts of Omori too much, not the good parts! Anyway my rec is that you read Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. It has the childhood and escapism stuff and does them well without the bad edgy aspects. But if you want bad edgy aspects to supplement your experience, read Notes from Underground. It's about a literal incel hiki misanthrope. But the second half has him ALMOST coming to experience actual romance and dignity for others. That's Dostoevsky making a point about how this hiki loser is, in fact, not to be romanticized for being a hiki loser, but to be pitied for his escapism. Arguably Omori can be interpreted the same way. I think Omocat was trying to have that as sort of an angle for Sunny and Basil and Aubrey, that's their intended character development. But Omocat fumbles the third act really bad regardless.
>tl;dr read Lewis Carroll and Dostoevsky and leave it at that.

I want to start learning the Japanese language in more depth for literary and philosophical purposes - reading the Kyoto School guys in the original mainly. What are the most comprehensive books someone would need to learn the language in-depth?

Sorry for being stupid, but how do I make those nice, centered, properly-proportioned symmetric, color-outlined /lit/ flowcharts you guys often post, is there a program or a site or something? Nobody ever says where they make them. Don't tell me I have to make that stuff from scratch. I want to make book flowcharts, tell me your secrets.
