In that case I would recommend that instead of reading a book about C# you pick a decent language to learn instead and move over to it by working on a project while having a reference that tells you the main differences between the new language and one you already know.

After you've got the basics like that you can start reading articles on paradigms, patterns and the like which are specific to your new language.

As for books about vidya, there aren't really any. Most of them are written by hacks to sell to college kids stupid and overfunded enough to study "game design courses". If you want to learn about design your best bet is >>9882754 but also playing older games helps you see how modern design patterns have evolved and understand them better.
