The former already implies the latter so there's need to type out both

You are young and not as profound as you think you are. But keep reading all the same.

>I personally have way more fun spending a 120 euro's with friends that took me 8 hours to earn then reading a book in that same time.

>I feel striving for a more "Bilzarian" lifestyle... in the end is more fulfilling

then this life isn't for you. i'm not saying that to be shitty or dismissive. it literally isn't for you. go and live that "bilzarian" lifestyle if that's what you want. no one is stopping you.

What's the country with best literature? I guess it has to be a battle between US, UK, Russia, France and Germany; but can't decide which one has the upper hand.

Just gonna throw in a draft list off the top of my head, and I'd be grateful if you guys helped me fill it up some more.

Russia
- Dostoyevsky
- Tolstoy
- Turgenev
- Chekhov
- Nabokov (if he counts as Russian)
- Gogol

Germany
- Goethe
- Hesse
- Kafka

France
- Sartre
- Celine
- Camus

UK
- Woolf
- Shakespeare
- Orwell I guess?

Ireland
- Wilde
- Joyce
- Beckett

US
- Steinbeck
- Melville
- Hemingway

It's 2013 and people still glorify reading as a highly intellectual endeavor, more so than watching a movie, listening to a music album, or reading a forum.

When will reading lose its pretentious aura and will be seen as a normal hobby (or even procrastination) whose main purpose is to entertain the reader?
