Neon future Catholicism

Gleaming, shining futurism garbed in the mantle of Faith. The bright reflection of cyberpunk. A realization that there is hope in the future, that Christ still lives and dies, that the way to eternal life is still open. Christwave. Tradwave.

I both read it AND write it. I don't do it as much as I used to. Back in the day I used to write massive long fanfics. These days I keep them much shorter, because these days I also write lots of original fiction and poetry, so just for the sake of focusing on my own art, I can't be spending too much time playing around in other people's universes.

But I will bang out a short fic from time to time even today, if the mood strikes me and if I get a good idea.

awesome, thanks. my ideal is to level out at a certain point of comprehensiveness then not only break down for trajectory, but also for levels of entry: freshman, masters, phd, etc.
excellent stuff, anon, will email soon.

thanks again!

shoot me an email (see website) and please indicate that it is you. i'd love to begin a larger conversation/read some of your stuff.

thanks for the interest. so far it has only been physical, but now during quarantine and future prospects, i've been thinking of starting something like an associated private discord or something.
i'd be open to throw around ideas. at this point i don't see much reason distance should be a factor; talent and motivation have always been the core standards, at least in theory.

Fuck all the rest of you fags, who can't get it done. I'm going to get it done. I'M going to get it done.

I am going to be the greatest writer AND the greatest poet of the 21st Century. I am going to write the greatest work of literature of the 21st Century. Maybe the greatest work of art of the 21st Century, across all the arts. I am going to make a work of art that people will be reading a thousand years from now. I am going to make something that is True, Beautiful, and Good, something that glorifies God, something that stirs the deepest depths of the human soul.

Nobody has any ambition any more. It's bullshit. But I do. I have ambition. I am going to wake literature from the dead.

i'm not here to waste your time so don't waste mine. i couldn't care less about the rest of you: if the maker of the videos is here, make yourself known. i will link to a slush email, provide immediate credentials, and we will go from there. please do not overlook this opportunity.

the rest of you can fuck off. won't reply to anyone besides potential booktuber.

I recently finished a fanfic, of all things. I got my start as a writer writing fanfiction when I was a middle schooler, and I don't write nearly as much of it as I used to do. But it's fun to do still, from time to time.

At the moment I've returned to a work of original fiction, the beginning of a huge story that I've been rolling around in my head for decades now. This particular work is the first chronological installment of that story; I have previously written some narrative poems and some short stories that take place within the story in media res.

This particular work is going to be enormous, a work that will have multiple works within it, and will, I plan, involve both prose and verse. I've joked with my best friend who knows about it that it's going to take me at least a decade to complete. I'm not even sure exactly how long it's going to be, how many works-within-works will make it up. I'll know when it's done when I'm finished, I suppose, and I do have an ending in mind.

If it becomes everything I hope it to be, it might wind up as the greatest work of art of the 21st century. We'll see if I'm up to the task.

Are creative writing classes really as bad as they're made out to be? Every time we've had a thread about them here on /lit/ all I hear is horror stories about how stupid/autistic/insufferable every member of the class was.

What are the best journals and websites to read if I want to read contemporary poetry that's actually good? Obviously I'd prefer to avoid memes like Rupi Kaur.

Anyone else here actively trying to make it as a great writer and poet? I don't post my stuff in the critique threads because if it's posted on 4chan I can't get it published elsewhere. I want to create great art that endures for centuries. I've actually managed to get some short stories and poems published, in the meantime. I want to make it, /lit/. Who else here wants to make it?

Well we wouldn't go ALL the way back, of course. We wouldn't give up our modern technology, like vaccines, indoor plumbing, air conditioning, etc.. We'd just be marrying modern science to ancient and medieval modes of sociopolitical organization. Imagine a landed aristocracy that used social media to communicate to its subjects, or online polls that were used to petition the local lord for grievances. The old and the new, fused together to make something both similar and different to both.
