Just started this book.

The dialogue is cringe inducing. The characters are entirely stereotyped. The story is touted as a "feminist lord of the rings". The dragon on the front is cool though.

Don't want to come off as an incel or whatever the buzzword is these days, but I avoid female authors exactly because of this. Their works are so poorly written it baffles me when I constantly see them recommended. I remember pic related was getting shilled hard throughout various circles and after I put it down in disgust I tried to find why exactly some people loved it so much. To nobody's surprise it was because it was written by a female author and had a bunch of "progressive" shit in it. Nobody ever actually praised the characters or the plot. It's all so tiresome.
