Catholic futurism is kind of a cool idea, but I can't think of anyone who's done serious work on the concept, whether in literature or the visual arts or anything.

Worldwide Neo-Christendom, as the Church reforms itself in the wake of the scandals of the 20th Century and, as a result, gains the strength to dominate the known world again. This has happened both times the Church has been rocked by scandal in its history. The Arian Crisis which nearly destroyed the Church in the 5th Century gave rise to the mighty Church of late antiquity, which was so holy and powerful that it could even command the Roman Emperor to do as it wished. The "pornocracy" of the 9th and the 10th centuries, when the Church was plagued by corruption and sexual sins, gave rise to the Church of the High Middle Ages and the Renaissance, when it was far and away the most dominant cultural and artistic force in all of Europe, in addition to conquering the New World via Spanish and Portuguese Catholics. Every time the Church reforms after scandals it massively expands in power and influence, and as the Church is reforming right now, such an expansion will probably occur again.

I once tried to get a fantasy novel published. I stopped keeping track of the rejections I received, I must have gotten 30, 40, or more. Only one time did I ever receive a request for a partial manuscript, and only one other time did I ever receive a request for a full manuscript. Both times I was ultimately rejected by the agent.

I've had more luck with short stories and poems. I've had three short stories and five poems published. One time I was even paid for a poem. But I still get a lot of rejections in this area, as well.

Uh, Anon, that's kind of the point, isn't it?

All these other religions' ability to coexist with each other seems like a weakness, not a strength. It's ultimately a betrayal of their claim to be the preferred way to salvation. But Christianity continues to maintain that everyone who doesn't believe in Jesus is doomed. Because this is true. Because Christians really believe that their way is the Truth.
