There are different degrees of dogmatism within the left and the right, it's called the political spectrum.

Orwell was a critic of both extreme left and right wing politics, however his profession as a journalist forced him to lean to an undogmatic left wing stance because he saw fascism as a greater threat to freedom of speech.

Hello /lit/, I have a question about university applications and as you fine gentlemen are regarded as the most educated on 4chan I thought i'd turn to this magniloquent board for advice.


I have achieved exceedingly good grades in all of my pre-university examinations, (an A for History, Chemistry, English, Math and a B for Physics).

However, during the course of the year I was also exceptionally lazy towards my work, did not complete a single assignment on time and I received poor grades from internal examinations due to my adolescent refusal to take them seriously.

How badly will this affect my university application? Do Universities even care about my previous attitudes if I have shown my abilities through my exams, can I convince them that I merely detested school and prefer to function academically as an independent?

Will they believe me, /lit, even if my teachers tell them what an awful student I am?
