I'm at usyd, experience is not quite as bad as yours. Always a few dickheads in class who want to have a dialogue about how much extra reading they did though

I studied philosophy at uni and I'm graduating in a couple months now. On the one hand I've had some incredible classes and insights into both analytic and conty thinkers. Being able to discuss really big brain texts and writers with people who are excellent speakers and educators has let me understand some tricky books, ones that would have taken me many months to do on my own.

On the other hand, I've watched all of my friends get internships and jobs, go on vacations and do work that isn't utterly menial and trivial (I was stuck working retail for most of my degree). This, alongside the fact that virtually everything I wanted to talk about when with my friends gets a confused look, has made me feel like I'm stuck in a kind of mutated extended childhood
