Only the wheel part, because it's the closest thing to nature. You can find cycles (physical rolling and metaphorical growth-and-decay) anywhere in the world. But there is no analogue to books, clocks, and computers, they are all man-made and thus further from the primordial Tao.

Why do you need to be an elite to renounce the world and discipline yourself? If anything the wealth and power would just be greater obstacles to scission than for those of lower class.

I have spent the entire quarantine exercising and reading in parks. It's been highly based and now that we're reopening the normies will come back out in full force and destroy my vibe.

To be socially conservative is to reject economics in the first place. If you take a stand on "the issues" (trade, regulation, inflation, etc.) you have already fallen into the materialist mud. Imagine asking Aristotle or Confucius such questions, do you think they would take you seriously? There is a reason economics was born at the same time as secular rationalism.

Just read the Inklings, some Eliot, and some Catholic revival like Macdonald and Chesterton. After that Burke and Pobyedonostsev for politics, add some theology and medieval poetry, then boom you're comfy. There's no need to go further because this whole thing is really dumb once you get outside the comfy zone into the retarded primordial schizo bulletin zone. I do highly recommend Charles Williams, easily the most overlooked of the inklings, and also getting a grip on reality.
