Well the first two books the main location is a large plains with deep interconnected chasms that turn it into a bunch of Island plateaus that would look like pic related if you had an aerial view

basically the world has periodic and regular hurricane force storms that seep across it every few weeks so all the plants and animals are designed to be able to withstand it so everything has shells like a crap or something

and yeah giant magic swords that kinda dissolve into Vapor when you put them away are the super weapons of the setting but there aren't many of them

Redemption Ark was the best book in that trilogy, imo. Make sure you read the novellas and short stories in the RS universe too. Shit is ballin'.

Ohhh gotcha. Yeah it's basically based upon verbalizing a certain ideal. It doesn't have to be an /exact/ word-for-word ideal uttered by every single person but as long as it is spoken properly then it'll get the 'point' across. Although first Ideal is the same for all Knights Radiant and it begins to differ after the Second Ideal. I remember reading about this from a Q&A thing a while back but I believe that was the gist.

Nightblood consumes Investiture. Breath is the Nalthian form of Investiture and Stormlight is one form of Rosharan Investiture. Hemarlurgy stealing Shardblades is interesting. Didn't know that but doesn't surprise me. I feel like Hermalurgy is the 'science' approach as opposed to the 'magic' of every other magic system involved. I don't see why Shai would ever be on Roshar unless she somehow becomes involved with the Seventeenth Shard.

Lift's Surgebinding of Abrasion isn't related to her ability to metabolize Stormlight. That ability is actually a Boon from the Nightwatcher.

Speaking of Seventeenth Shard, I wonder if Khriss is involved with them. I kind of doubt Frost is.
