The original meaning of the "redpill" meme as it spawned on /new/ was very narrow:
Discovering that Jews have almost total control of the media, and subsequently realizing that you have been lied to your entire life because every teacher, every elected official, every mainstream historian and possibly even your parents have told you that Jewish media control is a nonsensical conspiracy theory, when in reality it is so obvious that you can verify it in about 10 minutes just by reading stuff on Wikipedia.
In people who are capable of critical thought, this in turn leads to the realization that they have to re-examine effectively everything they have ever been told about history, society, religion and politics.
This a radical and sudden awakening that can make you question reality itself. More than one person who went through this started to flirt with Gnosticism after going through it. Especially for more intellectual people who were heavily invested in the ruling ideology, the psychological shock is such that the scene of Neo waking up in his pod and seeing the real world for the first time seems a fitting analogy.

I watched that unfold on /new/ back then. First, people found other things they had been lied to, such as homosexuality being harmless when in reality more than 50% of HIV infections are due to gay sex (which the mainstream media often pretends is nonsense spread by religious people, despite the CDC itself publishing these statistics). So "redpill me on X" became a meme.
The big problem is that a lot of people are simply too dumb to process the information about Jewish domination of our society. I've literally sat next to people and walked them through Wikipedia articles on the owners of the various media conglomerates and made them read out loud the phrase "...was born into a Jewish family" in their early life sections, yet on the next day they go right back to being oblivious about Jewish influence as ever.
Such dumb people then came to /pol/ and saw the term "redpilled" applied to some topic of lesser importance which they were able to understand, and started using the term in such a banal way that outsiders (e.g. Ben Garrison) thought "redpilled" refers to Republicans and "bluepilled" to Dems.

Even something as anti-human as a jew is evolving; circumcision has been toned down for the majority of them, and they've split their camp. I doubt they will be able to maintain host killing properties for many iterations after this. Same happens to viruses, they become less hostile as time goes on, and eventually become either passing neutral matter, or a symbiotic evolutionary spiral.

It's worth the read and will probably help you understand why USA is so fucked up politically and culturally.
