His worst books written-hastily-for-money while-on-speed are indeed bad, his best books (ironically, often also have been created in the same condition) are pretty good. In fact, one of my snobbish views is that those who fail to admit any literary worth, merit, in nuances in “genre-fiction” (because they are strict literary elitists who wish to oppose this strictly with “literary fiction” or “literature”) are themselves plebs, while disdaining to be anti-pleb and show off how patrician they are.
