i don't see psychoanalysis' value as anything approaching 'scientific.' more like freud, lacan, etc. created a way of slicing up being that gives us the vocabulary to talk about certain modes of experience. i guess i would say that about everything. but what i want to know, is if hermeticism/alchemy/gnosticism is similar, not in the way jung proposed, but just in terms of creating new windows of phenomena. or do people out there believe in thoth ontologically?

pic sort of related, just picked up his hermetic tradition

Has JBP ever talked about the Traditionalist authors such as Evola, Guenon, or Eliade? They seem to draw many parallels. How do you think they would feel about each other's work?

discussing capitalism and communism; the 'socioeconomic myth' and the agendas of materialistic political systems -
>The true significance of the socioeconomic myth, in any of its forms, is as a means of internal anesthetization or prophylaxis, aimed at evading the problem of an existence robbed of any meaning and at consolidating in every way the fundamental insignificance of modern man's life.

on science:
>None of modern science has the slightest value as knowledge; rather, it bases itself on a formal renunciation of knowledge in the true sense... The system of science resembles a net that draws ever tighter around a something that, in itself, remains incomprehensible, with the sole intention of subduing it for practical ends.

sounds about right to me

In the sense that the Traditionalists like Evola/Guenon were? Both seem to acknowledge the underlying truth found in all religious traditions. What would they think of one another and how do their beliefs differ?

Now that's fringe af. Carl Jung isn't though.

You should really read Evola and Spengler.

Also Ernst Jünger might be considered 'fringe' by some, and he's absolutely brilliant.
