This is probably a stretch but I was wondering if /lit/ would remember the title of this book that I read as a kid, sometime in the 90s.

All I remember is that it had something to do with time, like these kids discovered some place that I think froze time in the outside world or something or had something to do with time travel. I think when they came out, their dog was dead because of the time they were gone or something like that. I was like WTF, dog died? and I think that's why it's stuck with me and has been bugging me forever. So if you have any ideas, that would be great. Thanks.
