I don't have any pets because it is inappropriate for somebody in their early twenties.

So many of my neighbors in my apartment complex have untrained dogs. They jump up on people, they pull on leashes, and worst of all, they don't even know their names.

Why? Their owners can't bring the proper time and effort to training.

Also, if you own a pet, you had better not plan on traveling often.

I disagree if you mean common sense as "beliefs normally held by humans". Plenty of people hold bullshit beliefs like "everything happens for a reason" or "people never change". Much of philosophy is rebelling against this kind of common sense.

If you mean "common sense" as "the human faculties for rational deliberation", then yes, philosophy is an extension of common sense.
