I'm in a STEM major right now. But even though I'm really great at it, I do terribly, because I really want to be an English major. I don't even care that it leads to a shitty career on the average. Every time I open a text editor to do a shitty algorithms or programming language theory project, I fall into sincere depression -- now, to the point where I'd rather die than work one day in a computer science field. I can't live like that. I'd rather die.

Anyone who switched from STEM to humanities here? How did you convince your parents? Two more classes next semester and I can claim a CS minor and then (were I allowed by my parents) stock up on some literature classes. I can't live like this.

What's some good postmodern Irish lit? I just finished some plays and poems by the leaders of the Easter Uprising, and I want to try something from a different direction.

Screenwriting is wayyyy harder than any other form of writing--trust me.
