What are some sffg books that deal a lot with the liminal boundary between humanity and technology, especially in terms of innocence being weaponized. I particularly like prose and general storytelling in the vein of Wildbow. Long, xenofictive, nobledark, pathological themes and focus. Picrel kind of scratches that itch but obviously it's limited by the medium. I've read the Forever War and pretty much any of the normie tier sci-fi/fantasy you can think of.

Tangentially related, but I've been looking for English lit that deals with themes comparable to Gunslinger Girl. It's not quite what OP is describing even though innocence and friendship are themes, it's very macabre. I've always liked Gunslinger Girl because it reminds me of when my parents forced me to go to an Italian boarding school that I'm reasonably sure was run by neofascist elements within Prosegur. Basically it was a military training camp for younger teens. I've never seen print fiction that quite nails what I experienced there. Somehow it's stuff like Gunslinger Girls and Girls' Frontline that give me the same vibe. I consider it auto-therapy. Thank you in advance.
