I need a book that describes the most virtuous, powerful, resolute, and energetic man possible. I need something motivating to read a bit of every morning, of someone so great that it almost borders on parody. I'm tired of reading literature about tragically flawed and emotionally challenged men, I simply want something awe-inspiring and masculine. And I can't think of anything to read. I'm making my way through Lansings' short book on Shackleton, and this is good, but I imagine there's even better out there.

Essentially, when I put the book down, I want a renewed sense of just how shitty I am and how much better I could be. I want some awe in my life.
