What do people think about The Grace of Kings?

Re-read it recently and loved it.

Outside of Ken Liu, Michelle Sagara, and Liu Cixin, who are the best east asian descended SFF writers? Are there any good fantasy novels that take place in classical Korea?

Outside of Under Heaven/River of Stars, The Dandelion Dynasty, and Remembrance of Earth's Past, what are the essential Chinese based SFF?

How is this series?

Anyone read this Hugo/Nebula award winning fantasy novel?
I just put it down after around a hundred pages, probably for the last time, unless someone can convince me to somehow keep slogging through this shit.
I'm actually kind of interested in the plot itself, but the writing is....bad. It's not the diction/syntax or the author's control of language in general, it's more that he doesn't understand how to tell a story. It's just fact after fact, with very little character development or even much dialogue really. it's like, "And then Kuni decided to be a bandit" is like the maximum amount of insight into Kuni's thought process when he decides to drop fucking everything in his life and hide out in the goddamn mountains with a bunch of people he doesn't even know. Like, fucking expand on it a little for christsake, Liu.

Anyway, thoughts on this book? Can anyone convince me to keep going like 500 more pages (fuck)?
