I read a book for a class several years ago that was all about how ideas spread and become implemented.

The examples he discussed were James Lind and the cure for scurvy, people trying to convince 3rd world village women to boil their water because there were germs in it, etc.

It's bugging me that I can't remember what it was called.
It's not "How Ideas Spread" by Jonah Berger.

Does anyone know what book I'm talking about?

I’d quite like to be unintelligent and happy. Right now I'm stuck with unintelligence and unbridled misery.
