How hard is it to predict the future? what factors should one consider (economic, geo-political, cultural values, religion, etc.)? also how vague should i be?

I recently quit /pol/ and all those alt-right stuff.
I hate leftists and I hate alt-righters. Which books can you recommend me that will teach me to find a balance in ideas, to form my own opinion, to avoid biases, to not jump on bandwagons and follow crowds? Doesn't have to be political.
