>>some are occasionally saved, but the reason why is a divine mistery

This is actually not true, it's relatively simple to decide who gets saved despite not being baptized, the Church figured this out centuries ago.

It depends on if you've actually had a chance to hear the Gospel or not. If you have never had the Gospel preached to you, and never had the opportunity to be baptized, you are not at fault for it.

The Germans are really strongly flirting with schism and they probably need to be put down very aggressively. The trouble is that Germany, the country, has a thing called the "church tax", which every German actually pays (and a recent poll of Germans said that they have no issues with paying it), and which flows directly into the coffers of the Catholic Church in Germany. This means that, though Mass attendance in Germany is in the single digits percentage-wise, the German Church commands a huge amount of money, which gives it outsized influence for a national church, especially relative to the actual number of its faithful.

Can somebody tell me where the "/lit/ is left-wing board" meme comes from? Because I have seen it for years now and every time I wonder if the people spreading it are actual /lit/ posters. /lit/ is not a left-wing board at all. For one thing, /lit/ is the most religious board on 4chan. This board has had an interest in Christianity, especially Catholicism and Orthodoxy, for more than five years now. This board was very early in investigating right-wing thinkers like De Maistre, like the old popes (Pius IX, Leo XIII, Pius X), and this board has regularly been fond of writers who somewhat skew right-wing, like Chesterton, Borges, Gene Wolfe, and others.

So where the fuck did this meme of /lit/ being a left-wing board come from? Because if it was ever true, it hasn't been true for years now.

The Church has only ever apologized for the Crusades in qualified terms, it's never fully repudiated them. The Church has never fully repudiated a lot of things that certain people would like it to repudiate.

You're all literally incapable of granting a single inch of legitimacy to the Catholic Church, aren't you? Even under pain of death you wouldn't be willing to say a single nice thing about the Roman Church.

Who gives a shit about anything that isn't the Church? Every time Catholics in this country have tried to play nice with other religions, other groups, and other elements, we've been burned. We've been used, derided, taken advantage of, and betrayed.

So fuck all the rest of you, frankly. Fuck all American non-Catholics. Fuck all American Protestants, fuck all American Jews, fuck all American Muslims, fuck all American atheists. Every last one of them can get fucked. The Church should look out for the Church, especially in a country that is as anti-Catholic at its foundations as the United States is.

The Orthodox are okay, I guess, but there's not a lot of them.

Disgusting Gnostic faggotry does not have any place in a work of literature as purely Catholic as the Comedy.

As a Catholic I'm just about ready for us to go back to hating Protestants again. Ecumenicalism was a mistake.

I am a Catholic who believes in an Confessor state where Protestants, Muslims, Jews, and atheists are second-class citizens. I don't give a shit about your race, I just care that you're loyal to the Pope.

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of former boosters of liberation theology have over the years gradually drifted in a much more Trad direction.

Cardinal Muller is a big example of this. He used to be a supporter of liberation theology but nowadays he sounds much more Trad in his speeches and writings.
