I've heard of the "Greeks didn't have blue" theroy, but I don't think it's necessary to explain why homer described the sea as "wine dark." The ocean can appear pretty dark at times.

It's Interesting nonetheless. And the implications that another society in the future might have even more colors than us is kind of humbling. You'd expect the bands of distinct color to be evenly spaced, but blue and green appear to be much wider than the other colors. To say nothing over the shitstorm a particular dress caused.
