of course most normal women and most red blooded males are aware that, if you really want to make a chick cum, you push her against a wall and use her without bothering to ask her opinion. They know that prostitution and stripping and "onlyfans" are humiliating- they have healthy social networks by which they would be humiliated if any found out. They aren't aware of emotional labor, they have normal relationships where no one keeps score or bothers with tallying up the inequity in socialization and emotional support.
We are incredibly blessed for not being in that social sphere. I'm pretty near to them by educational necessity and I can confirm, they are some of the most socially and emotionally dysfunctional people I've ever met.

Picture an eastern european country under the soviet bloc. Whoring and stripping is what women do when the economy is shit, when there's nothing else for them to do to make money. If you're a good looking girl without any prospects, this is the option.
At least pre-2000 we had the intellectual and emotional honesty to be like "ah those poor women. I wish the wall would come down and they could find nice dignified jobs where they could keep their clothes on, maybe at a factory or something."

But we indulge these autists with opinion pieces in our finest rags (failing NYT for example) and cush jobs in academia, we talk about how "sex work is real work" and that dread ur-meaningless hyperneoliberal idea, "empowerment."
We can't fucking face the music, we continue to rinse out our devastation, we even wax political about the modern day equivalent of lines of whores all over the place. Sure technology adds a nice pine scent but come on, it's only a matter of time until one of these chicks gets stalked and murdered, and that will definitely break the secure illusion this company is trying to project which anyone with eyes can see through. This is "sex work," just like any other job where a big powerful boss lets you show bits of yourself to nasty old men in exchange for a cut of the baby's diaper money.
Which means we haven't hit rock bottom yet. In an addict sense, I mean. We still have depths left to plumb, and that's what I don't like about it. That and I personally think hard times make good art, force introspection, and I crave a cultural turnaround aesthetically speaking but that's just personal taste.
